Laboratory Manager / Laboratory Supervisor / Senior Laboratory Technician

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Austin, or San Antonio, Texas

Primary Responsibilities:
In the role of a Laboratory Manager, Laboratory Supervisor or Senior Laboratory Technician, we will count on you to:
  • Perform tests on soil, concrete, aggregate and HMA to determine if work is done according to contract specifications.
  • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Performs basic review of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
  • Communicates information to Project Manager.
  • Has experience and proficiency in laboratory testing.
  • Trains lower level technicians.
  • May interact with client and other site personnel on behalf of the Project Manager when directed.
  • Maintains equipment operation and calibration.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on projects.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred certifications or ability to acquire:  ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician, AGG101, TXAPA Level 1A, SB101, SB102, SB103, SB201, and SB202.
  • Well versed in ASTM & TXDOT test procedures for soils, aggregates, concrete and HMAC.
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires the ability to lift / carry a case that weighs 95 pounds and push up to 250 pounds in a wheelbarrow.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to represent TCS and its clients in a professional manner at all times.
  • Must have a clear driving record; a DMV check will be conducted.

Staff Accountant

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex or Austin, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time

Primary Responsibilities:

In the role of a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Drive project based accounting system implementation.
  • Perform accounts receivable functions, including invoicing and collections.
  • Oversee and perform payroll processing functions and coding.
  • Manage subconsultant contracts and invoicing.
  • Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function.
  • Perform revenue and job cost analyses.
  • Support senior leadership by forecasting and analyzing financial trends and recommending areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accounting department files and records, including all financial transactions.
  • Coordinate and perform year end FAR audit to ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • 2-5 years applicable experience. Experience in AEC industry a plus.
  • Located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex or Austin area.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with project based accounting software (Deltek Ajera) system preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Perform duties proactively and independently.
  • Desire to grow as an integral part of management team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Transportation Construction Inspector

Location: Greenville or Columbia, SC

Employment Type: Full-Time

Primary Responsibilities:

In the role of a Transportation Construction Inspector, your primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Perform inspection of all phases of road and/or bridge construction in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
  • Perform inspection on projects requiring expertise and knowledge in multiple areas of highway construction inspection.
  • Perform materials sampling and testing as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
  • Read and interpret plans and construction specifications.
  • Compute and compile installed field quantities.
  • Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Prepare daily work reports and other project documentation.
  • Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations.
  • Perform basic review of inspections and data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
  • Communicate information to Project Manager.
  • Have experience in multiple areas of inspection and field testing.
  • Train lower level inspectors.
  • May interact with client and other site personnel on behalf of the Project Manager when directed.
  • Maintain equipment operation and calibration.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or applicable field preferred.
  • 1 – 5 years, 6 – 10 years, or 10+ years experience in construction inspection. Compensation commensurate with experience.
  • Preferred certifications:  SCDOT Asphalt Roadway, Earthwork, Concrete, Foundations, and Pavement Preservation. ACI Field-Grade 1, Nuclear Gauge Safety and Hazmat, CEPSCI, Work Zone Traffic Control, and OSHA 10-hour.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, AASHTOWare Project, and ProjectWise.
  • Ability to perform work on active jobsite in safe, proficient manner required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and excellent written communication skills as well as the ability to create and prepare reports.
  • Mathematical skills for verifying measurements and computer skills (word,excel,etc,) for reviewing project plan sets, specifications, photo processing and filing and preparation of reports.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, nights and weekends).
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods.
